It is my great pleasure as President of Old Patesians RFC to welcome players, supporters, coaches, sponsors and officials to the 2011-12 season.
We start the season with great optimism, and with a World Cup to inspire us. We've got lots to build on, and an experienced coaching team to guide us. As always, a huge amount of work has gone into preparing for the new season, both on and off the field. Let's hope the efforts of everyone involved are repaid by some successful and enjoyable rugby.
Our fixture list contains a mixture of familiar and new opponents, teams that will travel far to be our guests and others who come from much nearer home. We welcome you all. We aim to ensure that our hospitality off the pitch is equal to the warmth of our welcome on it.
Our players represent the Old Patesians with enthusiasm, effort and a great spirit, and maintain the best traditions of our club on and off the field. Please give them your whole-hearted support and come back to Everest Road regularly.
Next season, we will celebrate our centenary. Whether as players, officials or supporters, let's do everything we can to bring the first 100 years of our history to a successful conclusion.
