What Might Have Been
It was a game of two halves and a story of what might have been. Of contrasting styles of play too.
The Old Patesians Rugby Club, known as the Old Pats, is a vibrant community rugby club based in Cheltenham Gloucestershire. Located between the suburbs of Charlton Kings and Leckhampton with Leckhampton Hill providing a stunning backdrop the Old Pats is home to over 700 players of all ages and abilities.
Inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do and the driving force of our successes both on and off the pitch.
We have over 100 adults playing everything from irregular social rugby to weekly league rugby and around 360 8–18 year olds playing with their mates at weekends (and tour at the end of the season!). In our sister Tag club there’s 200 4–8 year-olds running around throughout the year.
All our players have the support of a community of volunteers comprising team managers, coaches and club officials with family, friends, supporters and sponsors turning out pitc hside to cheer them along.
If you want to be part of this community and you share our ethos for inclusivity then whatever your aspirations you have a rugby home with the Old Pats.

A narrow defeat for Pats in the opening game of the new season against a strong Hereford team despite a valiant fight back in the second period.
A baptism of fire last week against a sizeable Longlevens outfit saw us come second-best in a very tough opening fixture.
New shirts and new faces provided Pats with the perfect start to the season as they swept aside new arrivals from the league above in a 13 try to nil demolition
