Old Pats partner rugby mental health charity Looseheadz
As a club we encourage our players to be physically fit and going forward we’re excited to announce that we’re adding mental fitness to our agenda as we partner up with Looseheadz.
Looseheadz is a mental health charity funded by the sale of rugby clothing. They stock a range of apparel designed by rugby players, for rugby players. Each purchase goes towards the Looseheadz Foundation where 100% of the money raised is used to fund initiatives that help players at every level of the game, so every time you buy a LooseHeadz t-shirt, hoodie, bobble hat or scrunchie, you help to fund the mission (charity number #1193051).
With rugby at the heart of all they do, their aim is to normalise the conversation surrounding mental health and provide support for those in need. What originally started out as a small project at Wilmslow Rugby Club in 2017 to raise some money to help their friends, has now turned into a global movement working to place a ‘LooseHead’ (mental health lead) into every rugby club around the world. Because we care for the wellbeing of all our players we can’t wait to start our partnership here at Old Pats. In fact, we’ve already made some awesome memories when one of our Under 14’s was lucky enough to train with Looseheadz representative and Springbok scrum half Herschel Jantjies and coach Mzwandile Stick!
Take a look at www.looseheadz.co.uk and give them a follow them on social media, @looseheadz. We’ll be posting more information soon about how our Old Pats rugby family can make the most of their wellbeing support.
