2023 Spring Club Day
Hundreds turn up to enjoy the Old Pats community event of the year to raise nearly £2000 for the 4ED fund-raising appeal.
The sun shone down on what turned out to be one of our best-ever club days, with hundreds turning up to celebrate being in the Old Pats community and to enjoy a day out with friends and family.
This year Colts’ parents managed the BBQ, Gemma and Sally ran another cake stall, James Hutchinson and the U11s ran the coconut (rugby ball) shy, Adam Jones of the U12’s ran a kicking challenge, and the seniors turned up to run the Rugby Golf.
Chris Brear and the U9s managed the raffle, with Gloucester and England player Mark Atkinson announcing the winners.
Club Day treasurer and U13’s Team Manager Andrea Mason and husband Rob organised the hugely popular bucking rugby ball, and Claire, Rob, Di and the team kept the beer flowing and the queues short.
‘’It was great to see so many from most of the age groups there today as well as family, friends and many Old Pats supporters. This year we are donating the entire proceeds to the 4ED fund-raising campaign set up by Gloucester Rugby for Ed Slater, who was diagnosed with MND last year, which I have just been informed amounts to approximately £2,000 Thank you so much to all of you who turned up’’ Alistair Armstrong – Junior Chairman
‘’With so many of our junior teams playing at different locations, it’s events like this that bring the Old Pats community together to remind everyone what being part of the Old Pats is all about. After a hugely successful season for both the juniors and the seniors, what better way than to celebrate with teammates, family and friends at Everest Road’’ Matt Cape – Club Chairman
