Old Pats Colts

Welcome

Old Pats Colts is a large squad made up of a mix of U17 and U18 players. The group welcomes players of all abilities and enjoys a good playing record in both GRFU and National competitions. We are also proud to see many former Colts players progress to play with the Old Pats Seniors squad.

Adam Nicholson, James Raddon and Mat Jordan work alongside Head Coach Rob Fidler to deliver our Tuesday evening training sessions with coaching having a strong games-led focus. On Sunday afternoons we play a mix of competition and friendly games, with fixtures throughout the playing season.

Training and home games are at the club’s home ground (Everest Road, Cheltenham).

Our ethos

The Old Patesians Junior section exists to encourage children and young adults to develop as rugby and team players throughout their time with us with the objective that they maintain their participation in the sport once they become an adult.

To this end the rugby environment we create for our young players must be safe, fun and inclusive. Our Club Ethos is at the very heart of everything we think and do to make this happen.

Message from the Head Coach

We know that many of our players will have other sports commitments to juggle, including playing rugby for their schools/colleges. Others may have occasional clashes with their academic work or employment.

Our large squad, and our commitment to fielding mixed ability teams gives us great flexibility, meaning that players will never feel pushed to play. This is key to us ensuring the welfare of our players.
