I joined OPRFC in the late 80’s in the twilight of my playing career having played most of my rugby in South East London.

My time at OPRFC started when my son started in the juniors and I really enjoyed being part of the coaching team as he and his mates developed with a number of them going on to represent the 1st team and achieve higher honours

I am now the 1st XV Rugby Manager supporting Head Coach Chris Downes.

The current squad includes some excellent young talent developed to the best of their abilities under the unmatched guidance of Rob Fidler in the Colts and with the expert tutelage of Head Coach Chris Downes and Ben Smith, they will emerge as regular 1st XV contenders.

OPRFC is a well-established traditional style of club with amateur status but a professional approach throughout including excellent values and standards of fair play and where development is encouraged in a safe environment.

Contributing to the smooth running of the season, the wellbeing of the players and supporting the coaching staff is both enjoyable and rewarding. It is particularly fulfilling to have observed minis evolve into juniors and on into the adult section.
