Old Pats U11 V The British Weather
By Richard Simpson (Head Coach)
Despite the torrential rain th 23 players donned their waterproofs and headed to training regardless
After a scary All Hallows’ Eve the U11s awoke to a very scary weather forecast. However, despite the torrential rain that was falling outside nearly half the squad (23 players) donned their waterproofs and headed to training regardless.
Pleasingly, this determination and resilience was quickly rewarded as just a few minutes into the warm up the dark rain clouds disappeared and out came the sun!
Buoyed by this change in the weather, the players and coaches threw themselves into some work on their speed and agility and then some work on developing their positional responsibilities and the structure of their attacking play.
The session then culminated in a 20 minute internal match, where we focussed on applying these positional responsibilities and attacking structures to a competitive game setting.
Next week sees two squads heading (away) to Berry Hill RFC and one squad heading (away) to Old Richian’s RFC. Good luck to all those involved!
