1 XV
The First Team is firmly rooted in the tradition of the Old Pats with the core of the team having played for the club since they were kids, many have played together for most of their rugby life.
With league fixtures against other local teams with manageable travel times and an emphasis on enjoyment, team work and building strong friendships whilst hopefully winning with your mates.
2nd XV
The second team also play in the GRFU District Leagues against other local teams they are a blend of young players making the transition to senior rugby and experienced players looking to enjoy a competitive run around on a Saturday followed by a bit of social!
The Vets Social Team
The Social Vets provide long-standing Old Pats players with competitive social rugby, playing friendly fixtures against other clubs across the county, whilst they support the transition of players from the junior to senior rugby. They aim to play a couple of times a month to allow the bodies to recover!

Message from the Director of Rugby
We have a fantastic senior section supporting all standards of playing ability with a focus on development and enjoyment. As the senior coaches our passion is to develop and improve all our players in becoming better players. Concentrating on individual development will always then improve the team!!
We are community club and the social side is almost as important as the rugby! The Pats love nothing more than a social! Socials range from beers after a game, to race nights, summer balls and golf days!

Coaching team and officials
The playing squad are coached by a team with a true Old Pats flavour who have a genuine love for the club and share the passion of the players.
A number of the coaches are long-standing Old Pats who have played or coached at a higher level and returned to help the next generation. Chris Downes, Director of Rugby, has played at a professional level for Ebbw Vale.
Over half the squad have played for the Old Pats since they were in the juniors and others have been part of the club for more years than they would care to mention.
Whilst we are an amateur rugby club, we approach the game with a professional mindset both on and off the field to allow every player to develop and enjoy their game.
