Match Report
Old Pat's Green Team come back from behind with 2 well deserved wins!
This match report will focus on the first ‘Green Team’ match – a closely and fiercely fought match which was competitive right up to the final whistle.
Old Pats took an early lead with a good running try, but Ledbury came right back with fast passing and a last ditch tackle on the line by Old Pats showed bravery and averted a certain try. However, the pressure was intense and finally Ledbury broke through with a well deserved try. Old Pats narrowly missed another try when the ball was ripped just on the Ledbury try line, who then scored and went into half time 2:1.
Not to be deterred, the Green Team coaching staff motivated the boys to keep going, but early in the second half, Ledbury kicked over the top and capitalised on this with another score. The last quarter of the game was intense, with good skills on display by both sides. A very powerful Ledbury unit nearly made it down the line but was just edged into touch with Old Pats. A length of the pitch run yielded a try to Old Pats, who sealed the game with another try in the last few seconds to make it a well-deserved 4:3 victory to Old Pats.
The second game against Ledbury yielded a similar ‘backs against the walls’ win for the Green Team.
Overall, a great and long morning of rugby with solid performances across all of the U11 Old Pats teams. Thank you to the referees and coaches for supporting our boys!
