U11s Blues take on Gordon League in a fast paced game
A sunny, and surprisingly warm November morning in Gloucester set the scene for a fast-paced game of rugby against Gordon League RFC.
It was a fast start for Old Pats breaking the Gordon League defensive line and running in a try within one minute of kick off.
Gordon League mustered their defence for a sustained period but turnover ball was their enemy and Old Pats capitalised at the breakdown, notching up a strong lead.
Gordon League stuffed the ball up their jumpers and ran hard at Old Pats, beginning to ruck more effectively they made their way towards Old Pats try line but ultimately failed to get over it over, with the ball ripped in the final meters.
A flurry of Old Pats tries followed taking us to the half time whistle.
The second half saw a reinvigorated Gordon League side come out fighting and, once again, finding themselves camped on the Old Pats try line but, much to their frustration, losing the ball forward in the final meters.
However, as we entered the final quarter they managed to stifle the Old Pats attack with a solid defensive line and much improved ruck.
They were ultimately rewarded with a try in the dying moments of the game, showing great heart and determination against a tough Old Pats opposition.
A strong showing from Old Pats this weekend showing pace on the ball and creativity with the boot.
